Gardening with Yorkies Heuchera Sedum Mums

Gardening with Yorkies is always an adventure. They do love the outside and checking everything out. Pagan is the one that follows me around all morning when I go out for any possible photos and picking any weeds that sprouted up from the day before.

My beautiful Yorkie Pagan showing her stuff off. She is such a busybody that it has been difficult catching her in a decent garden photo. Yorkies are very curious and always checking things out. Posing in front of a lot of different things, some no longer in bloom, but all grouped as part of my Cottage Garden. Have a Hydrangea Tar Diva in the background and burgundy Mums blooming on left and pink Mums blooming on the right.

Sedum Matrona starting to bloom. I really like the red stems on these.

One of my many Coral Bells. This one is Huechera Melting Fire with one of my Yorkie statues. Melting Fire is one of my favorites. It really holds it's burgundy color throughout the seasons and since this is on the SW corner of my house that is saying a lot for it. I love Heuchera, not just for the colors of foliage but a lot of them are evergreen here as this one is.

Photobucket
This is it for the Lilies blooming this year. They actually bloomed a little later than the reds did, but appreciate the blooms. I had the Tiny Orange Sensation Asiatic Lily in pots and put them in the yard and they decided they liked it and went ahead and bloomed for me. I do have a few Daylilies that are reblooming. That is the only way to go now is the rebloomers other than have to have favorites.

Spent my day yesterday digging up all the Iris and dividing them. I hate dividing them. It's not only a lot of work, but too frequently you don't get blooms the following year. I'll hope for the best from them next year.

It's not that much fun to divide them. I usually get lazy and give many of the divisions away so that I won't have to plant them! :-D

Hope that you get some rest. Your flowers are beautiful!

Lovely flowers and your sweet pup posing in front of them!
I'm with you on dividing plants; probably why I have many that are in dire need of division! But this year is the year I tackle them. Maybe. I hope. Thank you, you've given me inspiration to get it done!

When Ivy was young, she used to dig holes for my rose bushes. (It was hard scraping up the dirt to put back though LOL) Pagan looks great in her outfit. The minute Carrie goes out, she wants back in. Isn't the weather great!

but sooo worth it!
I love that lily, Cher, but I didn't see where you named it? I am looking for later blooming varities.

Your Pagan is adorable. Those lillies are beautiful. It has been so hot and dry that my reblooming daylilys have not rebloomed this year.

Morning Cher,

Pagan is the cutest! So nice to have a little gardening companion.

I love coral bells also. I never had much luck with them until this year and they have been blooming steadily since about June! I am assuming they needed a few years to get established, but I had no idea they had such a long blooming season.

I have a couple of sedums, but they look quite different from yours. Mine will be a few more weeks until they open. I hope you'll post another photo of yours when it's in 'full bloom'. I think our flowers will be quite similar. Mine will be covered in bees! Yours as well?

Have a great day,
Diane

Pagan is so cute although she looks like she could get in a little trouble from time to time. Love your Cottage Garden. Hope my Coral Bells look like yours one day.

Cute doggie! My kids are always begging for a dog or cat, but I tell them they have siblings instead, which are plenty of work for me :-) Good work on your iris, what a big job!

Pagan is a darling. I don't think she eats weeds and raw vegetables like my dogs. Mine really get in the way whenever I attempt to weed.

Your Yorkie is adorable. It kinda took attention away from the garden and stole the show.

Love the yorkie :)

Can't believe it is time to divide!

Pagen is gorgeous!

I have my first Yorkie - a little boy named Neko Pierre. He's almost a year old and so mischievous. I know if I can't see him - then he's up to something ;-) Even so, he's a little sweetie - very loving and sweet. I tried putting his bangs up in a little top knot but he didn't want any part of it - so it's off to the groomers we go - on Monday. I can't wait to see him all prettied up.

Thanks so much for joining the Tuesday Train!!
