Heuchera - Coralbells Hosta Cotinus Salvia Rose in Ohio

Photobucket
Heuchera Palace Purple with some of my Hosta collection. I love the Heuchera - Coralbells, the foliage is so lovely and for me evergreen. This is one of those plants like Hosta that I grow for the foliage rather than the blooms.

Photobucket
Four hours of watering with the sprinkler around the yard. This drought is awful. Didn't do much and am back hand watering each plant when needed. The Echinacea and Daisies in the right bed are partly in bloom now.

Photobucket
Cotinus Golden Spirit with numerous Heuchera planted around it. Love the bright gold on this. You notice it as soon as you look out in the yard. I believe it will become a little more towards a yellow green in the summer, but it's one that I love so far.

Photobucket
Rose Apricot Drift with Sedum Autumn Joy and Sedum Matrona on each side of it. This Rose is such a pretty little guy and loaded with blooms

Photobucket
Salvia Sensation Rose, Salvia Snow Hill and Salvia Sensation Blue. I love this grouping together with the girl with Yorkie statue. My Salvia May Night didn't survive the Winter which I had for probably 5 years. I was intending to divide it this year but it apparently had other ideas.

Photobucket
The Spirea Magic Carpet is blooming, flanked by Heuchera Beaujolais and Heucherella Sweet Tea.

Photobucket
I've had several large Butterflies but never with camera in hand, so snapped this one of the little white on a different Salvia Sensation Rose.

Photobucket
Viburnum Autumn Jazz with Clematis growing through it. My other Clematis may have bit the dust. I keep hoping it will start growing. Flanked by Variegated Solomon's Seal and Japanese Painted Ferns. I've left plenty of room here for this shrub to get to it's expected size. I predict it will do quite a bit of growing this year. Viburnum Autumn Jazz is one that grows vase shaped.

Photobucket
Let's close with this cute little guy, just a youngster yet. I was out back about 1 AM and saw this little guy. Ran and grabbed a camera and flashlight. It was pitch black but I shined the light on him and got the photo. He just sat there and posed.

Hope your gardening is going well.

Ty musisz podlewać w ogródku, bo susza, a u nas pada i pada deszcz i jest chłodno. Piękne masz hosty, szczególnie te, o ciemnych liściach.A żabka pewno czekała, aż znowu zaczniesz lać wodę, bo przecież ona ją lubi. Pozdrawiam
You need to water the garden, because the drought, and we have rain and rain and cold. Beautiful you hosts, especially those with dark liściach.A frog definitely wait until you start to pour the water again, because she likes it. Yours.

My Heuchera are overgrown by hosta (which I always mean to divide...then forget until it's too late)! I bought a couple a year or so ago that are quite orange. I don't like them so well, but they ARE unusual....

We're watering, too - and like you, one of my clematis seems to have succumbed to the dryness.

You bed is really beautiful! It will be interesting to see how our plants come out at the end of summer, won't it?

You have lots of lovely plants there Cher! I'm a fan of Cotinus and would love to have more if we had the space. Heucheras are wonderful and they come in myriads of colours. The flowers are small and can be nondescript but en masse looks good, very light and airy looking. Hopefully your garden gets some rain soon. And well done on getting a photo of the cute little frog :)

I like all your different heucheras. Everything looks so nice and neat in your garden.

I hope you get some rain soon! We are supposed to get some on Sunday. It will ruin my Father's Day BBQ, but that's OK. We can just eat inside. I would rather have rain than be on the deck Sunday.

Wow! That pink salvia really pops right out at you. You're going to have to bring a chair out and just sit and wait for some more butterflies to pose for you. It's funny to hear people from wetter areas talk about having to water. Here, installing a dripper on each plant is just a part of the planting ritual.

I do love Heuchera! We have several varieties since my hubby is more of a foliage guy. Great capture of your toad!

What a treat to see your lovely gardens filled with things that will not grow down here in s.e. FL.

I thought May night salvia were indestructible, but I guess not. I like the pop of white that the salvia snow hill brings to the garden. I might need to look for some.

Droughts are such nasty things. I love how cooperative toads are when we want to take their picture. :o) Your garden looks great. I love the idea of growing a clematis through the viburnum.

All of them don't grow here in the hot tropics. But we also have salvia which don't in any way look like that! Here not many people will admire it, and with long dry seasons, it is a candidate for cutting. Your heuchera looks very healthy even with water rationing.

A hate droughts!! Your plants are looking really nice though. Love that Salvia Sensation Rose!

You have such a nice collection of heucheras. You would never know you are having a drought to look at them! Heucheras are becoming one of my favorite foliage plants, too. I recently planted Heuchera 'Stormy Seas' with burgundy foliage and ruffled leaves. Don't give up on your clematis...they surprise you sometimes!

Your garden is looking great! I love coral bells too and just discovered that there were a lot of varieties out there a couple of years ago. I hadn't had any for years and was out of touch with how many were available these days!
I lost all my coreopsis..they've been dwindling but I thought they were supposed to be easy to grow!
The salvia looks wonderful! Love the rose bush!
Have a great weekend!

Hi Cher, Your Cotinus has lovely color. I like the mix of salvia in your garden - such pretty colors. I think all our salvias are medium purple; I must check out the Snow Hill cultivar. I too like heuchera and heucherella and yours are lovely! We are getting rain (much-needed)today in Iowa and if I could, I'd send some your way! Water out of the faucet just isn't the same as God's good clean rain.

Your garden is doing well right now. I have only seen red salvia but you have other colours too. Haha, Kermit the frog is here! Hope he get a full stomach helping you gobble up the unwanted bugs from your garden.

Such lovely combinations. England's 'hosepipe ban' has just been lifted due to all the rain. I just love a garden in June! Enjoy :)

Hello, I have been blog hopping, I love your gardens and you're a wonderful photographer!

Love how you grouped your plants here. I especially enjoy the mixing up of purple and greens to make your spaces pop! This is something I could do better in my own space....mix up the purple foliage better to enhance the green areas a bit instead of let them blur all together. Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

It is so early for us here to be watering already. Looks like a bad summer Cher. I really like your Apricot Drift rose. So pretty. Your garden looks like it is growing great. Your Heucheras look much better than my poor things.
Stay cool and I hope you get some rain Sunday.

Sorry to hear you're in a drought. That can be so stressful - for the gardener as well as the garden! Love the Apricot Drift rose. I passed one up this past spring - what was I thinking???! And I love your three salvias together. I have snow hill new to me this year, and I love the way it looks. Your blue one is so pretty! I'm definitely going to have to find a place for one (or two) of those in my garden! I also like the way you have the clematis growing up the viburnum. When the viburnum reaches its mature size, it will be stunning! Love the frog, too! :)

Vielen Dank für die netten Worte.
Ja, es ist schlimm, wenn alles zu trocken ist. Hier regnet es in diesem Sommer fast zu viel.
