Colors on some of the trees for 2011 has been exceptional.
Acer Palmatum Fireglow. This is a dwarf Japanese Maple that should top out at 12 feet or so. It's situated in my family Hosta bed, which are all cut back now. Remains burgundy through the seasons, but thought I would include it with the Hydrangea Tar Diva in the background showing some yellow Fall color also.
Acer Griseum Paperbark Maple after planting it in late August.
Acer Griseum Paperbark Maple at the end of October. I added it for it's exfoliating bark, the red Fall color is just an added bonus. I didn't expect much Fall color this year with it being put in so recently but what a pleasant surprise it's been.
Malus Purple Prince this Fall. I love this tree and it's wonderful shape, the wonderful flowers in Spring, the beautiful Summer purplish green color and fullness, and the burgundy Fall color and then the added bonus of small purple fruits the birds eat over the Winter.

You've got a lovely collection of Acers and trees there Cher! I like the contrast between the Acer Fireglow and Hydrangea :)
Hi Cher,
Lovely fall colour on your Trees!
Would love to have a Japanese Maple their colour is so vibrant...
All the Best,
Christine
Your Malus Purple Prince does have a wonderful shape. It is so pretty in the seasons. I see it blooming in one of your pictures so it is pretty in the spring too.
wonderful trees and colors!
Hi... I know you really enjoy your Acer griseum and I can say from experience that they get better and better as time goes on. I have four of them, the oldest is a clump and it's ten feet from the patio door in our bedroom. I can't tell you how often I pause and look at it, appreciating what a great tree it's becoming! Larry
The 'Fireglow' Japanese Maple is looking good. Mine is just getting started. I like the your Paperbark Maple too.
Wish I had a place for one!
Your Paperbark maple did well its first year!
You have such beautiful trees in your lovely garden! The lovley colours of Fall never fails to impress! Have a nice day!
Oh Wow! That looks stunning! Its grown really beautifully.
What beautiful trees! The fireglow is spectacular! What a wonderful reason to look forward to fall!
uh-oh. There might be something wrong with my Purple Prince. It doesn't look anything like yours, I don't think. Mine is not as full or shaped like yours at all! I love yours!
Your maples are doing great! Do you give them anything special? My trees disappointed me this fall. Of course, the wind blew down anything that actually did change color!
Gorgeous! Really shows good fall foliage.
That's very cool collection of trees and shrub! I like the fall colours!
You do have some great trees with good fall color. I wish I had more sunny areas to plant small trees.
Sprawca wszystkich miłych niespodzianek jest chyba łagodna, jesienna pogoda :-). Pozdrawiam
Paperbark Maple! Fantastic tree. I took a tree identification class at the NY Botanical Garden this fall and their Acer griseum specimen was the highlight of the class for me. Great photos.
Thank you, loved your blog too!
check back often!

Thank you for your comment! It isn't usually that hot where I live. Last year we had about minus 20 degree Celcius.
I like your japanise maple. It is nice to see so wonderful trees in a cold climate!
Einen wunderschönen Zierapfel hast du da in deinem Garten.
Grüße
Anette
My Fireglow is about the same size as yours. I enjoy it now, as I'm sure you enjoy yours, but I'm looking forward to seeing it when it approaches maturity! They are gorgeous trees.
You have been blessed with some awesome colours over there Cher! Really beautiful! Take care and enjoy your weekend.
I imagine these trees are red only during fall and have different looks each season. Over here, in a tropical country, if the leaves are red, they are always red despite the seasons.
Lovely collection of Maple. Love the colorful leaves ;)
I'm your newest follower. I love your site. We moved recently and I can't wait for spring so I can start planting and fixing up the flower beds and put out a few shrubs. Your site will be a big help. If you get a chance, check out my site at www.mamawsplace4.blogspot.com
I love these too. Acers touch my heart and the purple Malus is glorious.
Sending holiday wishes,

Such lovely color from those maples... every garden needs some!
Not too many people grow Paperbark Maple. It is a wonderful little tree that can grow in shady areas too.
The selection of trees in your garden is enviable and truly pretty in any season.
Gode billeder.
Smukke farver.
Tak for kigget.

Pretty leaves! That Purple Prince is really nice. I'm in such a quandry about what to plant in my front yard to replace some dying trees. I keep looking at crabapples but don't want to annoy my neighbors by planting a fruiting tree, since both trees are right by the property line. But those crabapples are so pretty! At least I don't have to decide for a few more months :-) Have a great holiday.
My favorite tree, you know why it is easily to be in love with it right?
Wow. Wow. Wow. Amazing, beautiful photos. This makes me smile!
I'm visiting from "Friendship Friday" :)
